Introspective by nature, collector and compulsive images reader, drawn to subtlety, calm, and silence. I hold a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at the Colombia National University (2012). I have professional experience in pedagogy and research, linking technical and manual creation with exploration and approach to diverse themes with reflective and critical perspective.
My artwork explores human nature, interweaving the corporeal and the intangible, and biological with sensible. It incites a reflective gaze transcending the material toward sublime states of the emotional and spiritual.
Through the construction of poetic images and narratives, I seek to invoke states beyond speech and literal meaning by using metaphors and symbolic language. I focus on recognizing and representing the conflicts, rigours, and passions we endure as living beings inhabiting an organic and impermanent body: wounds, sorrow, scars, memory, fear of forgetting and being forgotten; opposites and dualities, life and death, the constant struggle between the pagan and the sacred. These are essential aspects of human reality, yet they are often rejected and suppressed because they reveal our fragility and vulnerability, disturbing the illusion that we control our own existence. My intention is not only to assimilate them, but also to reclaim their value and expose their poignant beauty.
